Our Services
Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
We specialize in all aspects of AAC services, including initial evaluation, intervention, device trialing, working with vendors and insurance for device funding, and collaborating with families and schools for training and consultation. We provide continuous progress monitoring and ongoing assessment to ensure that communication systems grow and develop as our clients do.
Evaluations
We offer comprehensive speech and language evaluations using a combination of caregiver/client reporting, review of records, standardized norm-referenced assessments, criterion-referenced measures, and informal observations. Additionally, we offer Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE) at the request of families and school districts in the areas of AAC, speech, and language.
Therapy
We offer speech and language intervention services that use a child-led, family-centered approach. Therapy can be conducted in your own home or at schools and daycare centers across CT and western MA.
Message and Voice Banking
We provide a specialized message and voice baking service for individuals (children and adults) who are at-risk for losing their ability to communicate verbally. This process involves recording a set of messages to create a personalized, synthetic voice that can be used within an AAC system, as well as preserving a set of personalized messages in the event that verbal speech becomes limited.
Schools
Communication through Connection is available for contracted services to school districts in the areas of evaluation, direct intervention services, consultation, and team training/continuing education.
